Director of Engineering & Property Management Elected President of the Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce

BELLEDUNE, NEW BRUNSWICK — Tracy E. Eddy, Director of Engineering and Property Management at the Belledune Port Authority (BPA) last evening accepted the position of President of the Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce (GBCC). “It is a privilege to serve such an organization”, said Mr. Eddy, “By investing my time and offering my experience, I feel I am contributing to the betterment of this region.”

Mr. Harry H. Williamson, Chairman of the Board of the Belledune Port Authority (BPA) stated, “I wish to congratulate Mr. Eddy on having been elected President of the local chamber of commerce. Tracy is a very capable administrator who has, over the past two years, successfully managed projects for the BPA worth in excess of seventy-five million dollars.  I have no doubt that the Chamber of Commerce will benefit from his abilities as he assumes the Presidency of the organization.”

Mr. Eddy first served on the GBCC Board of Directors in the 1990’s and began his second mandate in 2009. “Our Chamber is comprised of dedicated individuals focused on economic growth“, offered Mr. Eddy, “As a strong advocate for the business community; the GBCC will continue to take a leadership role. I will strive to maintain our effectiveness, to think outside the box – not break the mold, but forge our own mold; so to speak.”

Tracy has been lending his expertise to the Port of Belledune since 2006. He holds a B.Sc in Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, and for over 20 years worked as a Professional Engineer and in property management, primarily commercial and industrial sectors.

He is a life-long Bathurst resident who is deeply involved in the community. He has been actively involved with a number of community and business organizations such as the organization that is now known as Enterprise Chaleur, the Downtown Bathurst Revitalization Corporation, and the Rotary Club of Bathurst.
